Our History

For almost 50 years Spectrum has been a dedicated local contractor focusing on unique and challenging projects of all types. With humble beginnings from a small residential framing crew, our team has grown to more than 70 employees each bringing unique skills and experience to our shared work.

The current ownership team is the second generation of leadership following in the example of the original founders’ creativity and dedication to detailed project execution. As we have grown from small residential roots to larger commercial, civic and historic work our capabilities have also expanded to include several in house shops.

Spectrum has always been based in the heart of Denver. Starting in the 1970s, the first “office” was in a small garage in the Park Hill neighborhood. Soon more space was needed and a more traditional office was established in the 1980s at the corner of 19th and Market before the Lodo neighborhood became what it is today. As the window and steel shop needs grew, the office and shops moved back to the Park Hill neighborhood in the 1990s to our current office and steel shop location. Our window and millwork shops have expanded to a 12,000 square foot shop not far from the home office just across Colorado Boulevard.

We have handled custom structural and ornamental steel needs for many of our projects as well as custom cabinetry and millwork fabrication for 3 decades.

For more than 20 years we have been a leading presence in restoration and preservation of windows, doors and architectural millwork for numerous historic and landmark buildings throughout Colorado.
